From May 10th to May 13th, Pope John Paul II made his third journey to
Portugal, visiting Lisbon,
Angra do Heroismo, Ponta Delgada, Funchal, Monte Real and Fátima.

travelled to Poland for the fourth time, visiting Koszalin, Rzeszów, Przemysl, Lubaczów,
Kielce, Radom, Lomza, Bialystok, Olsztyn, Wloclawek, Plock and Warsaw (Poland).

Pope John Paul II managed another visit to Poland, on his way to
Hungary.
From August 13th to August 20th (Hungary's National Day), Pope John
Paul II visited Kraków, Wadowice and Czestochowa (Poland); Budapest, Esztergom,
Pécs, Máriápocs, Nyíregyháza, Debrecen and Szombathely (Hungary).

Brazil is a favourite destination of many visitors to South
America and Pope John Paul II was human too.
On his third trip to Brazil, October 12th to October 21st, The Pope
visited Natal, Săo Luis, Brasilia, Goiânia, Cuiabá, Campo Grande, Florianópolis,
Vitória, Maceió and Salvador (Brazil).

From February 19th to February 26th, Pope John Paul II travelled to
West Africa, visiting Dakar, Ziguinchor, Poponguine and Gorée (Senegal); Banjul (Gambia); and Conakry (Guinea).
Apostolic Voyage 55
From June 4th to June 10th, Pope John Paul II chose Africa again.
This time he travelled to Portuguese-speaking Africa, visiting Luanda,
Huambo, Lubango, Cabinda, M'Banza Congo, Catumbela and Benguela (Angola); and Săo Tomé (Săo Tomé e Príncipe).
